“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV
A broken home, a wayward child, the loss of a friend or family member, a broken bone, the loss of a job, the search for a new one, a car accident, a surgery and the long road to recovery, addiction, loneliness, depression, illness and so many other areas of trouble we experience in life become opportunities for us to be a blessing to others.
Our Father makes it very clear in this scripture that He comforts us so that we can bless others. Once we walk through the fires of life, we certainly are better equipped to help those who walk through like fires, being able to fully understand what they are going though.
Father, I thank you for your word. I thank you that as we yield to you, you use us for your glory. I thank you Father, that we cannot only grow closer to you and learn to trust you more as we go through various troubles, but through them, we can be a blessing to others as we comfort them with your love. Father, find us faithful to love others and bring comfort for them in their time of need. Amen.
